I have spent a good amount of time working in packaging design and I wanted to challenge myself by redesigning a package that I found problematic and ugly.
I chose to redesign the Scunci brand’s packaging because I always have an issue with the way hair ties are presented and sold.  For one, once you rip apart the hanging tag the hair ties get lost everywhere and secondly they are open for anyone to touch.
I thought this was a dynamic solution with a fun shape and a place to keep the hair ties even after opening.  It is also more colorful and aesthetically pleasing than the original, which was very basic and outdated.  Using a particularly interesting dieline made the whole experience really interesting and informative.  I believe the final product speaks for itself.
